O primeiro aniversário de ataque terrorista contra a Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Salvação e que resultou na morte de 52 Cristãos iraquianos em Bagdá, Iraque em 31 de outubro de 2010.
É lamentável que vivemos num mundo em que a discriminação, a perseguição e os massacres contra as minorias religiosas e étnicas são vistas como algo secundário. Sem respeitar os direitos humanos e a liberdade religiosa dentro do sistema democrático, a paz não terá qualquer chance num mundo em que o ódio é a regra.
O mundo árabe precisa de uma postura firme para proteger as minorias religiosas não somente através das leis, mas, principalmente, através da educação que ensina a ver o outro como irmão na humanidade e não como rival religioso. Sem combater as raízes de ódio religioso e étnico, não podemos prevenir os lamentáveis acontecimentos contra as minorias perpetradas por grupos radicais e terroristas.
A maior falha de qualquer nação é a incapacidade de conviver em paz numa estrutura de diversidade e que uma identidade única domina todos os aspectos da vida.

It is unfortunate that we live in a world where discrimination, persecution and massacres against religious and ethnic minorities are seen as of secondary importance. Without respect for human rights and religious freedom within the democratic system, peace will have no chance in a world ruled by hate.
The Arab world needs a strong stand to protect religious minorities not only through laws, but mainly through education that teaches seeing the other as a brother in humanity and not as a religious rival. Without fighting the roots of ethnic and religious hatred, we can not prevent these unfortunate incidents against minorities by radical groups and terrorists.
The biggest failure of any nation is its inability to live in peace within a framework of diversity and where a unique identity dominates all aspects of life.

من المؤسف أننا نعيش في عالم يعتبر التمييز والاضطهاد والمجازر ضد الأقليات الدينية والعرقية مسالة ثانوية. بدون احترام حقوق الإنسان والحرية الدينية داخل النظام الديمقراطي فإن السلام ليس لديه فرصة في عالم تحكمه الكراهية
العالم العربي بحاجة إلى وقفة قوية لحماية الأقليات الدينية ليس فقط من خلال القوانين ، ولكن بشكل خاص من خلال التعليم الذي يهدف الى روئية الاخركاخ في الانسانية وليس منافسا دينيا. دون القضاء على جذور الكراهية العرقية والدينية، لا يمكننا منع هذه الحوادث المؤسفة ضد الأقليات من قبل الجماعات المتطرفة والارهابيين
